- The February 2019 issue of the Survey of Current Business (Volume 99, Number 2) marks the first for the year. Due to the partial government shutdown, which caused the Bureau of Economic Analysis to cease operations from December 22, 2018, to January 25, 2019, the January 2019 issue of the Survey (Volume 99, Number 1) was not published.
- The partial government shutdown resulted in delays of many of the principal source data used to produce estimates of gross domestic product (GDP). This “initial” estimate of GDP for the fourth quarter of 2018 reflects a combination of data and methods typically used for both the advance and second current quarterly estimates.
